CLASSES

There are a range of classes on offer, both live, on Zoom and on demand on YouTube.  I can cater to all abilities from low impact to high intensity, there is something for everyone. 

 

**Please note that during August 2020 there will be no live Zoom Classes as we break for the summer, classes will resume in September when schools go back.  On demand is a great option over the summer.**

Stretch, Flow and Relax (30/45 mins)

This new generation style yoga class is choreographed to music, focusing on strengthening, flexibility and stretching. The moves are influenced by tai chi, yoga and pilates. There are lots of benefits to this class including increased flexibility and mobility, as well as muscle strength and tone.  It can can also improve mental well being, performance in other sports, and cardio and circulatory health. At the end there is an optional 5 minute relaxation to centre the mind, an important observation with our busy lifestyles.

 

HiiT (45 mins)

A short, fun and energetic workout for all abilities, from low impact to high intensity.  You will build lean muscle, increasing strength and improving your cardio fitness.  HiiT burns a lot of calories in a short space of time, the same as going on a long steady state run.  Did you know, you can also burn more calories and fat the 24 hours after your HiiT workout?  You'll get a huge endorphin rush afterwards, leaving you feeling great!

Express Lifting (30 mins)

All you need is a couple of dumbbells or weights for this short total body workout.  It focuses on strengthening and conditioning, to tone and shape the whole body.  After the age of 30, women start to lose muscle mass if they remain inactive, at a rate of 3-5% per decade, so think of this as a way to maintain muscle mass rather than 'bulking up'.  Regularly working the muscles can also increase bone density which can in turn reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis in later life.  Finally.... increasing muscle mass will also speed up your metabolism, enabling you to burn calories faster in every day life.  What is there not to love about 'Express Lifting" with me?!

Body Burn (30 minutes)

A quick 30 minute workout and a hybrid of Express Lifting and HiiT.  All you need is a couple of dumbbells, a drink, and a mat or towel to protect the floor.  You will perform 2 strength focused exercises back to back of 45 seconds, using dumbbells then you have a 15 second optional finisher of cardio or core, followed by 30 seconds of rest.  There are 8 rounds altogether, it is great resistance training with an extra bit of (optional) cardio to spike the heart rate!

 

Mindful Movement (30 minutes)

This express class is a mixture of pilates and yoga style movements to help improve mobility, flexibility & strength, and centre the mind.  We move through 8 rounds focusing on one position, flow, or movement for 3 different but related exercises of 45 seconds each.  There is a short break between each round to transition into the next one.  Some rounds will offer ways to progress the movement, but options to adapt are given throughout.
