Body Conditioning Spring Term 1st Half

Service Description
All you need is a mat (e.g. yoga mat) and a couple of your own dumbbells or hand weights (Ali can also lend you a set if you need) for this total body workout, focusing on strengthening the whole body - including the core! Why come? After the age of 30 women in particular, start to lose muscle mass if they remain inactive at a rate of 3-5% per decade, so think of this as a way to maintain muscle mass rather than 'bulking up'. Let's be honest though this kind of training is beneficial for EVERYONE! Regularly working the muscles can also increase bone density which can in turn reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis in later life. Finally.... increasing muscle mass will also speed up your metabolism, enabling you to burn calories faster in everyday life. What is not to love about 'Body Conditioning' with me?! If you are a complete beginner, you will be taught the basics, but if you are more advanced, you just need to use heavier weights and set yourself the challenge. Every week will be a little different - with focus on strength training, sometimes some light cardio (low impact will be fine here if you are a non jumper) and of course some core work - a combination of all three resulting in a TOTAL body conditioning workout. Please note no classes on the following Sundays: January 26th (Ali is running a retreat day) February 11th - half term February 18th - half term Signing up to this course gives you access to attend in person at Shottermill Junior School any week, or dial in on Zoom, and access to class recordings for a defined period to practice more, or catch up on any missed sessions.

Cancellation Policy
For course bookings, your place in each class is guaranteed. If you are unable to make it in person, you can either Zoom in or Ali will provide you with a recording of the actual class, or a similar recording, at her discretion, to allow you to catch up. If you decide to cancel your place, you have 7 days to cancel for a full refund, prior to the start of the course. After that you can transfer you place to someone else but no refunds will be issued.
